Equine Acupuncture

Leo has been trail riding and doing lots of long and low trot work this week, in an effort to help his body soreness. Friday, Liz came out to do some acupuncture and for peace of mind, I also had her x-ray his hocks.

Hock x-rays were really good. There was a small indication of inflammation on the inside of the left hock, but no noticeable arthritis, no bone spurs and all the joint spacing was clean. Sigh of relief.

We put him on the lunge so Liz could watch him go. She confirmed the lameness was gone. Leo has always dragged his left hind hoof and she said that likely has something more to do with his pelvis / SI joint / lower back.

He then got some acupuncture therapy. He's had it before but has been pretty reactive to it in the past. With Liz, he went to sleep. Happy dance here. he was so relaxed, I swear his muscles were sagging. I've never seen him like that before.
