Jumping To-Do List

My inner running dialogue while jumping....

Always:
  1. Hands down & forward
  2. Leg on
Thru the turn:
  1. Hands down & forward
  2. Leg on
  3. Counter bend (to balance)
  4. Weight on the inside seat bone
In the approach:
  1. Hands down & forward (no matter what)
  2. Leg On
  3. Talk to him
Over the fence:
  1. Hips back
  2. Fold at the hip
After fence:
  1. Hands down & forward
  2. Leg on
There's a lot more I need to be thinking about when I'm jumping, but that's all my brain can handle right now. The big thing is keeping my hands down no matter what Leo does. It doesn't matter if he speeds up: hands down. He doesn't matter if he drifts: hands down. It doesn't matter if he throws his head: hands down. Riding forward from my leg is the only way I can ride him - regardless of the fact that he likes to go forward / fast. I still need to ride from my leg, not my hand.
