Evention Tips for training your OTTB

Evention TV does it again with a video series dedicated to training the OTTB....the videos include a lot of great tips! Definitely a good resource.

Part 1:

Highlights:

• When your letting your OTTB down, hand grass him around the riding ring so he/she gets used to the activity

Part 2:


Highlights:

• Tip for teaching the leg aid: Introducing leg yielding at the walk so the horse learns that leg doesn't just mean go forward
• Tip for developing the canter: place 4 poles on a circle and canter over them
• Tip for jumping straight: create a straight path using poles before and after the fence
• Tip for jigging: just relax and go with it. Trying to force the horse to stop will only make it worse.
