Gifts for Eventers

I'm always struggling to think of gifts for my eventer friends, so I've decided to compile a list of worthy gifts:
  1. Subscription to My Virtual Eventing Coach ($20/month): What's better than 24/7 eventing advice? Lesley Stevenson offers thoughtful articles and training tips that will inspire, motivate and educate.
  2. Custom Jockey Whip ($36 from Bit of Britain): A bat is a necessity so why not get it in your eventing colors?
  3. Born to Ride XC T-Shirt ($30): Coup, an Etsy seller, offers fabulous cool riding t-shirts. These horse tees are hip and cool and will surely impress both your horsey and non-horsey friends.
  4. Eco Gold Secure XC Saddle Pad ($165): Emulate the pros with this innovative saddle pad design that won't slip in any condition.
  5. Cedar Boot Trees ($55 from Dover Saddlery): This is an item most riders won't purchase for themselves, but would be a welcome addition to any rider's gear. Far nicer than plastic, these cedar boot trees make a super nice gift.
  6. Ribbon Rack ($75): It's hard to know what to do with those show ribbons; but why not display them at home for friends and family to see?
  7. Sheepskin Covered Halter ($90 from Victory Canter): Another treat that many riders don't splurge on: a sheepskin covered halter for shipping. Sometimes the greatest gift is providing more comfort to our horse.
  8. Boyd & Silva Martin Training Videos: in lieu of lessons with some of the greats, now you can just purchase a video!
  9. Set of 4 Jumping Horse Pint Glasses ($25): I'm hesitant to offer up too much horse-themed decor items, but these are classy glasses.
  10. Bronze "Every Second Counts" Cross Country Sculpture by Mary Sand ($ unknown): This sculpture is to-die-for. Dynamic and expressive, it's a true work of art. Limited edition of 15.
  11. Andis Ruby Clippers ($45 from Amazon): These handy little clippers work like a charm! It's great for cleaning up whiskers and their cordless to boot. So handy!
  12. Live Free and Jump XC Tee ($28): Dapplebay has a large assortment of cute tees covering jumpers, dressage and eventing. Any one of them makes an awesome gift.
  13. Joule Rubber Wellie ($70 from Dover Saddlery): Everyone wants a pair of Dubarry's but if your budget isn't $500, a cute pair of rubber boots is a nice alternative.
  14. Kentucky Horseware XC Boots ($200/pair from Bit of Britain): Endorsed by Bettina Hoy, these are the newest boots on the market. They are made with a material of breathable d3o shock absorbing molecules to protect your horse's legs and keep them cool. Sounds impressive!
  15. The Stud Book ($15 from Bit of Britain): This is studs as in metal cleats not studs as in hot guys or stallions :) It's a handy reference book for any eventer's stud collection.
